Oliver Martial Arts Academy (“OMA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates omakarate.com (the “Site”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through this Privacy Notice. This notice applies to information collected through our Site, including information submitted through our forms (such as camp enrollments, after-school enrollment, student registration, and free trial registrations).

A. Information You Provide (Forms)
When you submit a form (registration, enrollment interest, or contact), you may provide:
- Parent/Guardian: name, email, phone number, mailing address, signature
- Child/Student (submitted by parent): name, date of birth or age, school, grade, program interest, scheduling details
- Emergency/Safety (optional/if applicable): medical conditions, medications, allergies relevant to safety, authorized pick-up persons
Please only provide information needed for registration and safety purposes. Do not include sensitive details unrelated to your request.
B. Information Collected Automatically
When you browse the Site, we and our service providers may collect usage information automatically, including:
- IP address (used to estimate general location)
- Device type, browser type, operating system
- Pages viewed, time spent, clicks, referring/exit pages
- Cookie identifiers and similar technologies
We use Google Analytics to understand visitor activity and improve the Site. Google Analytics may use cookies to collect and process usage data.

3. Children's Privacy & COPPA Compliance
Commitment to children’s safety. We strictly adhere to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Our Site is intended for use by parents and legal guardians, not directly by children under 13.
A. Verifiable Parental Consent
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All registrations, including trials and camp enrollments, must be completed by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old. By checking the mandatory consent boxes on our forms, you affirmatively consent to the collection and use of your child’s data strictly for program administration and safety.
B. Information Is Provided Voluntarily
Sharing a child’s information with us is always voluntary. Each form asks the parent or guardian to confirm that they are providing the information voluntarily. Some fields are required to complete a registration; if you prefer not to provide them online, you may register by phone at (813) 278-8551 or in person at the academy.
C. Data Minimization & Use
We only collect information that is reasonably necessary for your child to participate safely in our programs. We never sell, rent, or distribute children’s personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
D. Photos & Video
Photos or videos of students are used for promotional purposes only when a parent or guardian has agreed to the photo/video release in our registration forms. You may decline or withdraw that permission at any time.
E. Parent/Guardian Rights
Under COPPA, parents and legal guardians have the right to:
- Review the personal information we have collected about their child.
- Request the deletion of their child’s personal information.
- Refuse to allow any further collection or use of the child’s information.
If you believe a child has submitted information to us without parental consent, or if you wish to exercise your data rights, please contact us immediately.
4. Medical / Safety Information
If you choose to provide safety-related information (such as medical conditions, medications, and allergies), we will use it only for safety planning and emergency response related to participation in OMA programs.
OMA is generally not a “covered entity” under HIPAA. Information provided through our website forms may not receive HIPAA protections. We still treat safety information as highly sensitive and take reasonable steps to protect it.
5. Cookies & Analytics
We may use cookies and similar technologies to enable site functionality, remember your language choice (English or Spanish), understand traffic and usage (Google Analytics), and improve performance and user experience.

6. How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information only in limited circumstances:
- Service providers: who help operate the Site or manage forms (they may use info only to provide services for us and must protect it).

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for registration, scheduling, providing requested services, recordkeeping, safety planning, and legal compliance obligations. Parents/guardians may request deletion as described above, subject to any legal requirements.
9. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated notice. This notice is available in English and Spanish; if the two versions differ, the English version controls.
