Our Commitment
Oliver Martial Arts Academy is committed to making omakarate.com usable by people with disabilities. Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the technical standard referenced by the Revised Section 508 Standards and commonly used to measure accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
What We've Built In
Keyboard friendly
Every menu, link, button, and form field works without a mouse, with a clearly visible focus outline and a “Skip to main content” link.
Readable color and type
Text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1, body text starts at 17 pixels, and pages reflow and zoom to 200% without losing content.
Screen reader support
Pages use proper headings, landmarks, and page titles. Meaningful photos have text descriptions, and decorative artwork is hidden from assistive technology.
Accessible forms
Every field has a visible label, required fields are identified in text, errors are explained in words, and a typed name is accepted in place of a drawn signature.
English and Spanish
Every page is available in both languages, and each page tells assistive technology which language it is written in.
Never color alone
Status labels, links, and selected options are identified by text or shape as well as color.
Large touch targets
Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easier to tap on a phone.
Accessibility tools menu
An on-page menu lets you change contrast, text size, line height, and letter spacing, highlight links and headings, or switch to a simplified read mode.
Known Limitations
Some parts of the Site come from other companies, and we cannot fully control how accessible they are. These include the embedded Google Map on our Contact page, Google reviews, and posts or videos on our social media pages. The address, phone number, and directions link are always provided as plain text next to the map.
Other Ways to Register
If any form on this Site is difficult to use, our team will gladly complete your trial registration, camp registration, after-school enrollment, or waiver with you by phone or in person, in English or Spanish, at no extra cost.
How We Check
We review the Site with automated testing tools, keyboard-only testing, and screen readers when pages are added or changed. Accessibility is ongoing work, and we welcome your help in finding anything we missed.
