Academy Programs FAQs
Karate Programs FAQs
Our programs create a supportive environment where kids develop self-defense skills, focus, and lifelong friendships.
Will my child become a bully?
We find that our students gain more confidence to stand up to bullies and show greater humility and kindness to others through their karate training.
What do I need to bring to my first class?
Come in comfortable, athletic clothing! You can’t really do a kick in a skirt or jeans. Be sure to bring a bottle of water and eat beforehand. You’ll find that OMA’s karate classes for kids and adults are a great workout and a lot of fun! By the end of class, students are grinning from ear to ear, and you will be too!
My child has ADHD. Will karate help?
Yes! One of the great things about karate is that it’s an individual sport in a group environment. Our students improve their self-control, discipline, and social skills.
The best way to find out is to schedule our two free classes. You’ll see that our team is dedicated to helping your child become the best version of themselves.
Call now. You’ll be glad you did!
Are parents allowed to stay and watch?
We highly encourage parents to watch their kids train in class. We love when parents get involved! Even better, parents can join the adult karate class.
Your kids will love that you share something in common, and it’s a great way to build a strong family bond.
My child is not athletic. Will they feel left out?
Not at all! Karate is the perfect activity for kids who may not enjoy or excel in other sports. The journey from white belt to black belt is unique for each student, but what remains the same is their improvement in coordination, balance, motor skills, focus, and discipline. Plus, they make tons of new friends in class!
My child is addicted to computer games. Will this be suitable?
This is likely the best activity for kids who love gaming! Our classes get them active, without them even realizing they’re learning something new. The kicking pads and punching targets are a great stress relief, and children blossom in all areas through karate.
Many Riverview and Brandon parents have seen their kids become happier and more social after starting OMA Karate.
You’ll be glad they joined, and kids love feeling like ninjas!
